I'm baaaaaaaack!

Many apologies for the long absence from Blogland, but for the past couple of months most of my computer time has been devoted to the arduous, demeaning, and (thus far) fruitless task of job-hunting.

Those television ads for online job posting sites are rather misleading. "I applied for my dream job at Monster.com and within weeks I had a high-paying job with a great, employee-friendly company in an ultra-modern building two blocks from public transportation!" It doesn't really work that way in real life, or at least it hasn't for me.

Having posted over 60 resumes on job finding and corporate sites, I have succeeded in getting only 2 interviews and five thousand pieces of spam urging me to "Fire my boss and work at home!" If only it were that easy. What color is YOUR parachute, Tammy?" SHITTY BROWN. Sorry for the profanity...

Bottom line is that is has been two months since I was "laid off," and times are beginning to get a little tough. Some of my friends are urging me to follow my bliss and become a tv or movie writer. Do they know the average writer only makes $5,000 a year- not enough to tell the rest of the world to "F*** off!"
